1. lie 와 lay
- lie: 누워있다 lie-lay-lain
- lay : 놓다 lay-laid-laid
lie의 과겨형 lay와 lay의 일반형의 스펠링이 같다. 그렇기 때문에 원어민들도 자주 헷갈린다고 한다.
그러므로
I lay down for 30minutes 은 30분간 누워있었다로 해석이된다
* Anyways란 단어는 없다
* 많다의 뜻을 표현할 때 much는 문어체로, a lot은 구어체로 자주 사용된다
2. TV와 관련된 표현
1) family room / living room
- family room은 TV가 있는 거실
- living room은 벽난로가 있는 거실
2) couch potato : TV중독자
3) HD/SD/LD
- High definition/resolution : 고화질
- Standard definition/resolution : 중화질
- Low definition/resolution : 저화질
4) On demand
- live의 반대개념으로 보고싶은 TV프로그램을 클릭해서 시청하는 거 VOD랑 비슷한 개념
5) Is there anything good on (TV)? : TV에 뭐 재밌는 거 해?
- Let's see what's on (TV) : TV에 뭐하나 보자!
- Have you ever been on TV? : TV에 나온 적 있어?
- He was on TV : 그가 TV에 나왔어 ( He came out TV는 커밍아웃이라는 게이관련 표현이 있어서 이상하게 느껴질 수 있음)
6)What's your all time favorite show? : 제일 재밌었던 TV 프로그램이 뭐야?
7) did you catch the american idol last night? 어제 아메리칸 아이돌 봤어?
- 주로 그 당시에 흥행하고 있는 TV 프로그램들을 봤는지 물어볼 때 catch를 쓴다
8) I follow Premier league : 나 프리미어 리그 챙겨봐
9) flipping through the channel : 채널을 왔다갔다 하다

3. Go와 관련된 표현
1) to go overboard : 오바하다
* you went overboard last night : 너 어제 좀 오바했어
* I think you went too far : 너 어제 좀 과했어
2) go ahead
* I've decided to go ahead with it : 그것과 함께하기로 결정하다
* go ahead는 구어체에서 자주 쓰는 표현이다.
* 그렇게 하세요! 라고 쓸 수 있다
3) to go on and on : 끊이지 않는다
* He kept going on and on about his daughter : 그는 그의 딸에 대해서 계속 떠들어 댔다
4) to go astray : 탈선하다
